Nickel Alloys Inconel Alloy 600 N06600 - Austral Wright
Inconel 600 has good resistance to oxidation at high temperature. It out performs all other alloys for resistance to nitridation in cracked ammonia. It should not be used in sulphur containing atmospheres at high temperature, particularly if the conditions are reducing. It resists dry chlorine and hydrochloric acid gas at moderate temperatures.

Oxidation Resistance of Stainless Steel
Oxidation Resistance of Stainless Steel Oxidation is the formation of oxide rich scale. The scale, once formed, slows down further oxidation, unless it is mechanically removed or cracked, which can happen if the steel deforms under load.

Oxidation Resistance - an overview ScienceDirect Topics
Oxidation resistance is an important property for alloys to be used in power plants. It can be qualitatively evaluated by computational thermodynamics. The microstructures of oxide scales that form on FM steels, austenitic stainless steels, and Ni-base superalloys exposed to supercritical water were evaluated by Tan and co-workers [322–324] by simulating the oxide phases that form at
